France coach Laurent Blanc’s contract with the French Football Federation is set to expire at the end of the month and the Frenchman remains silent over his future
Following France's Euro 2012 quarter-final exit by the hands of Spain, manager Laurent Blanc has not confirmed so far whether he will stay with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 national team or will kick-start his managerial career somewhere else.
It was speculated that the former Marseille man wanted a new contract before the European championship but FFF did not offered him a new contract. President of French Football Federation Noel Le Graet wanted to wait until after Euro 2012 before making a
decision regarding Blanc’s future.
After the match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011, when reporters asked the Frenchman about his future, Blanc avoided confirming that he would continue as France coach and did not give a definitive answer. However, the 46-year-old tactician conceded that his young side need
more time to achieve positive results as the team is in rebuilding phase.
Laurent Blanc stated that the elimination from the tournament is indeed disappointing for the players and staff. And to ask question about the future of team’s manager is highly irrelevant.
"We've just gone out of the competition. We are disappointed and you can see that on the faces of the staff and players,"
"We will analyse everything in detail from this competition. We will do it in the coming days. There have been ups and downs. We will look at it calmly and we will see what happens after that."
The former Manchester United defender admitted that his team lacked quality to beat La Roja and Spanish side was superior in every department. Blanc admitted that Spain were the better side by far.
"We have to be realistic too. This Spain team is great and there is no shame in saying they are a better side than us and they proved that this evening.”
Laurent Blanc added that Spain are favourites to win the tournament along with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904. And it won’t be surprising if the two teams face each other in the final match.
Some English media had linked Laurent Blanc to the managerial position at Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. However, it is yet to be seen whether the Frenchman remains with France national team or walks away.
