France coach Laurent Blanc is aware of the threat Sweden pose and has warned his players to take their last group-match of the tournament very seriously against an already eliminated side
France are in great form coming into their last group match. Les Bleus are on an impressive 23-match unbeaten run and have registered a 1-1 draw against England in their opening match, and thrashed Ukraine 2-0 in their second match of the Euros.
Les Bleus are in need of just a draw to seal their place in the knockout stages of the Euros and Laurent Blanc’s men will take on Sweden in their final group-match, who have already been eliminated from the tournament after losing their opening two fixtures.
Despite the fact that Erik Hamren’s men are in woeful form at the moment, Laurent Blanc is not taking Sweden lightly. The Frenchman is of the view that the Swedish team have so many good players who are capable of winning the game on their own.
Laurent Blanc has asked his players not to lose their focus against a physical side. Blanc has warned his player to play to their strength and do not think that their place in quarterfinals is already confirmed.
"There is always the fear that after you win a match, you take your eye off the ball”
“We need to be aware of what we need to achieve. We were very happy after the Ukraine game but while we are playing against a side who have not qualified they will still go out to win the game.”
The French coach stated that the first half an hour of the game would be very important for Les Bleus. Sweden will be playing to salvage some pride out of their last game of the tournament. According to Blanc, Sweden will play a physical game and France
will be ready to counter that threat.
"This is the last game in the group stage and it is always going to be decisive. I think we are very well prepared in terms of our fitness. “
