After the disappointing result against England, France are in dire need of a win against co-hosts Ukraine and Laurent Blanc has challenged his players to prove their worth by securing all three points from their next game
France are set to face co-hosts Ukraine in their second match of the group. After just managing a draw against the Three Lions in their opening game, Les Bleus need nothing but a victory against Oleg Blokhin’s side in order to enhance their chances of securing
a place in the knockout stage of the Euro 2012.
The France coach has stressed that his players need to be on top of their game from the very first minute against a side who is very capable of causing Les Bleus an upset. France were able to come back into the game after going a goal down against England.
However, Blanc has issued a warning to his players that a defeat against Ukraine would end their all hopes of qualifying for the quarter-finals.
"We have to be ready to go from the first minute. Our first 25 minutes against England could have been fatal. We may have played better football than England, but we could easily have been 2-0 down. Against a really great team, you're finished, there's no
way back."
France have received a boost as Yann M’Vila has recovered from his injury and is available for the match. The 21-year-old is the first-choice defensive midfielder for Laurent Blanc and his inclusion will enhance the chances of Les Bleus in the tournament.
