The French Football Federation has opted to postpone a decision regarding Les Bleus managerial position following talks between Laurent Blanc and FFF chairman Noel Le Graet
Whether Blanc will stay on as France manager or he will walk away, was the question on everyone’s mind this morning.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international had a meeting with the president of the French Football Federation and it was expected that a decision will be made on Laurent Blanc’s future as France manager.
However, the issue remains unclear as no decision has been taken and both parties have remained tight-lipped on this matter.
Laurent Blanc guided Les Bleus to the quarter-finals stages of the European Championship and in doing so, achieved the minimum target that was set for his side. But the image of the squad was affected by several controversies that arose during EURO 2012.
The former Manchester United player revealed that the president has decided to give more time to consider the options and a final decision will be taken on June 30.
The 46-year-old who took over from Raymond Domenech in 2010 following a woeful World Cup campaign in which Les Bleus were eliminated in the very first round, admitted that he is still very much unclear about whether to stay as France manager or not.
While talking to reporters, Blanc revealed that he and Le Graet had discussed each and every event regarding France’s Euro 2012 campaign in detail, and had a technical overview of the tournament.
On a question of his future as France manager, Blanc revealed that nothing has been decided regarding that and he is going to take 48 hours to think about it.
"Beyond that it is first of all a personal thing as far as I am concerned. That's why we haven't taken a decision and we are going to take 48 hours to think it over," Blanc explained
"I said what I had to say. I think he (Noel Le Graet) told me what he had to say and that's a good thing."
If Laurent Blanc decides to step down from the post, Tottenham Hotspur, who are keen to have him as their new manager, will be an attractive prospect for the Frenchman to kick-start his coaching career.
