http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Laurent-Bonnart-c21732 arrives in LOSC Lille while Emerson set to leave – Ligue 1 report
After much speculation linking 31-year-old Laurent Bonnart to a move to 2010/2011 Ligue 1 champions LOSC Lille, the Frenchman has terminated his contract with recently-relegated Ligue 2 side AS Monaco in a bid to join the Ligue 1 champions.
The former Marseille man has signed a contract that would keep him at the Stade Metropole Villeneuve d’Ascq for two years according to La Voix des Sports.
Bonnart is now the seventh player Lille have brought this summer following the arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vincent-Enyeama-c36182 (Hapoel Tel Aviv) and Silvio
Rodelin (FC Nantes).
Bonnart joined AS Monaco last summer from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 and managed just 12 appearances for the Monte Carlo club. However, following the club’s relegation to Ligue 2, the former Le Mans man chose to leave Stade Louis II.
Laurent Bonnart is a versatile defender who can play both as a left-back and a right-back which was the main reason why coach Rudi Garcia was so keen on signing the experienced defender. Bonnart is expected to play as a left-back for Lille next season where
he will compete with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mathieu-Debuchy-c24682 and Franck Beria for a place in the starting XI.
The signing of Bonnart on a free transfer is definitely a big bargain for LOSC who are looking to add extra depth to their squad ahead of the 2011/2012 season where Les Dogues would also be featuring in the UEFA Champions League.
Meanwhile, Brazilian defender Emerson has flown to Portuguese capital Lisbon in order to finalise the remaining details of his transfer to Portuguese giants Benfica SL. The Águias had been keeping tabs on the 25-year-old left-back for a long time.
Signed from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emerson-c12442 never really managed to establish himself in the Les Dogues starting XI and played a mere peripheral role in Lille’s historic domestic double triumph last season.
Reports suggest that Lille will receive 2.5 million Euros for Emerson’s transfer.
