Laurent Koscielny and Johan Djourou return to Arsenal squad after injury setbacks – Premier League Update
Arsenal seem to have finally received some good news, as two of the team’s defenders have returned from injuries.
The duo of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Johan-Djourou-c18779 have both successfully recovered from their knocks and are now returning to full training with the first team.
During the absence of the two, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Per-Mertesacker-c29680 and Song.
Both Koscielny and Djourou missed out on the games against Olympiakos and Tottenham Hotspur. The Gunners won their game against the Greek side, but failed to beat their arch rivals in the Premier League.
Djourou was out injured due to a muscle strain that he picked up. While Koscielny seemed to have injured his ankle and needed some time to rest himself and get back in shape.
Djourou has currently been training with the Swiss international team and seems to finally be back to full fitness.
Koscielny on the other hand was part of Frances substitutes against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Albania-c2834 and that can only mean that the player has recovered as well.
With the two players now back in the team, Arsenal can finally focus on turning their season around, as they play host to Sunderland this coming Sunday. Having picked up four defeats this season, the team is going to be looking to go all out and pick up
all three points in their upcoming game. In order for the team to do just that, Arsene Wenger is going to need a near full strength team and can’t be forced to use his midfielders as defenders.
Koscielny has had a rather average season so far this term and he is yet to produce some of the killer performances that he displayed last term. The player has been all over the place and he seems to have lost the control that he had over the game.
On the other hand, Djourou seems to be back to his worst. The player’s confidence is shattered and he doesn’t seem to know just how to defend. He has often been caught napping on the pitch and has cost the team a number of crucial goals due to his tardy
defending.
Now, with both the players back from their injury break and after having ample time to reflect on their season, Wenger is going to be looking to try and get them back to their best and once that does happen, Arsenal could easily march back into the top half
of the table.
