  1. In most federal agencies, such as FBI or ATF, your looking at age 38....

In most local agencies, such as police, there is no age limit because of all the anti-discrimination laws and rules.  The agency must show that an older person cannot function as a younger one, standing no chance to make an argument, thus enabling the age limit to be any person that can withstand the academy.

The federal get away with this because the government topples and controls all rules anyway and don't have to follow the same guidelines/rules.

  2. This depends on what agency you apply for and your physical health. Most departments set an age, what that age is will be up to the Chief or Sheriff.I think Hwy Patrol sets an age of 35.

  3. not sure, call your local police department

  4. Federal law in the US makes it illegal for police departments to discriminate on age. Police Departments oddly enough follow the law more often than companies. If you can pass the agility you are young enough.

I personally know a Dallas Police Officer that started at 60. He did drop out after only 2 years.

  5. It depends on which country..
