  1. Laws are created by government. Government created laws based upon the will of the people. Until the social climate is willing to accept weed as safe and harmless, it will remain illegal. I will continue to lock up users that I believe threaten their own lives as well as the lives of their children and cost to taxpayers.

People have a hard enough time coordiating a designated drivers on weekends (such a simple task), lets add one more mind altering substance to the mix and see what happens. If their were just some way to see just how many lives have been saved by its being illegal. Just some way to demonstrate how its current legal status has helped so many. Yet, I guess education is the only way to shed any light on the topic. The only ones willing to put fourth that effort are the ones not smoking it.

Those offering negative votes here clearly are among those uneducated in the matter. Far to busy muching Cheetos and finding matches, papers, or a lighter.

  2. h**l no. I think it should be completely and totally legalized. If we made weed and hookers legal and taxed both like alcohol and cigarettes, the USA could make enough money to pay for this stupid war we are in. Not to mention the money we would save on prison costs not jailing weed smokers. We could use that money for healthcare for all Americans. Maybe even have enough left over to work on the National Debt, or maybe put art and music back in schools. I mean, seriously, alcohol is much worse for people than weed is. A drunk will go home and beat his wife and kids. DT's can kill you if you quit drinking. A pot head will come home, eat and pass out. Weed never killed anyone directly.

Edit: I live in Seattle, WA, where a law was passed making marijuana possession the lowest ranking crime for order of enforcement. This is an optimal situation, as the police can still take you in for it, but only if they literally have nothing better to do. This frees the police and their resources for more important crimes.

  3. Yes, air line pilot or surge eons will do very poorly..would you want them operating on you or flying your plane?

  4. I certainly do.

I've seen the long term effects on the person and on society in general.

  5. Funny how the only people who swear up and down that marijuana is harmless and want it legalized are potheads themselves.

People thought legalizing alcohol would lower the crime rate...

  6. mj will never be legalized while stupid losers drive under the influence or even have it in the passenger area of cars. pot smokers should hold themselves to a higher standard than drinkers do.

  7. Law enforcement officers do not make the laws, legislature does. It is not ethical for us to pick and choose what laws we want to enforce.

Until the law is changed, marijuana is illegal, and the smokers know a jail term is possible. Therefore, I have no problem putting them in jail.
