My father needs to get some sitness statements if you are a lawyer or have knowledge please help.

Do these witness statements need to be in the witness own words?

Can we type and get them signed by witnesses.

  1. ASK A REAL LAWYER.

You don't want to lose or delay your case because you took the advice of a bunch of random strangers on an Internet message board.

  2. Go to your phone book.  Call your local (usually county) bar association.  Ask them for their "Attorney Referral Service" - you will have to them them a little bit about your type of matter.  When you call the law office(s), insist on talking to the lawyer.  When you get the lawyer on the phone, talk about the fee #1 first thing.

Talk to an attorney.  If you are missing just one word, or have done something wrong with the procedure, the Statements will be useless.

    Good luck.

  3. Yes witness statements need to be in the witnesses own words and then signed by them.  It is not something you can type yourself and then get them to sign.  Its needs to be their own account of the event or whatever it is you need the witness statement for to be legal.
