  1. Hi,

Radar detector are illegal in France, but GPS is legal, no restriction.

  2. Any Kind of radar detector is forbiden to possess, but amazingly not to buy if I remember correctly,

GPS have lists of radars included and Most of the news ones, like the UK speed cameras, are all marked. You always get a warning sign before reaching those fixed radars.

Also if all the locals slow without any obvious reason, be assured the fixed radar is around the corner

  3. Well, I don't really know. There are lots of services that give you, by phone, the position of safety cameras. I suppose that by safety camera you mean speed camera. It is indeed illegal in France to have this kind of device. But first, no french policeman will check on your GPS; and then, all speed cameras are indicated a few kilometer before it. So I think only idiots get caught!

  4. France does not have the safety cameras they have in the UK and other countries.  You do not need the Garvin 360 there, however, they are illegal in France due to the only reason someone would use one is to do something against the law.
