Where is the best place to buy law books? I need company and public law books but I don't have the money to fork out 50 quid each for them either

  1. you could allways try looking on auction sites like eBay, some of the older books you will need may be on there being auctioned by ex students they'll be cheaper for sure, most would probably be in a good condition as in uni they would have needed to look after them so they could study from them so i would say check the auction sites, good luck :)

  2. Best thing to do is ask the students in the next year if they intend to sell theirs. I sold my Craig and De burca EU book for £20 (it was the current edition) saving the student £11. Chances are you'll see notices up and around your law school with students selling their old books. However don't buy company books older then a year old as they wont contain the Companies Act 2006 (the single biggest piece of company law to hit the legislative books in over 20 years!). Also don't buy a Public Law book older then 2 years old and their has been changes to terrorism laws, which have largely effected police powers - a sure topic in your module.

    Best of luck
