  1. That sort of law sounds good on the surface, but the problem with it is that how would this law be enforced? It is already illegal to smoke in federal buildings and many business prohibit smoking, unless they have areas designated for smokers. So it's not like people are free to smoke where ever they please. Cops would spend more time writing 'smoking tickets' than doing things of more importance.

But this sort of thing would cause problems of the taxation of cigarettes. Truthfully, a pack of smokes should cost less than dollar becaus tabacoo is cheap, and it's cheap to produce them. What makes cigarettes $3 or $4 a pack is the tax on them. So cigarrette makers would not stand for a tax on their product and the it is illegal for people to use cigarettes in public. It's easy to think of these companies as "evil", but they pay expensive taxes and those taxes pay for health care. So after you cripple cigarette revenues please find ways of paying for the health care of the millions of people who recieve it due to the tax funds from the cigaretee industry. You also forget that smoking is highly addictive, people can't function without it if they are addicted to them. And it's easy to say that smokers should just quit, but it's not that simple. People wouldn't be able to do their jobs if they are smokers and couldn't have their fix. Obviously it's not healthy, but people do need their smokes if they are hooked.

It also seems one-sided to make public smoking illegal when smog is legal and it can be just as harmful as cigarettes. So that would be hard to get pass when there are all sorts of things that we encounter every day that is just as harmful as smoking.

It's not like I look fondly on cigaretess. Both of my parents on my mothers' side died from smoking them. But still, that law of yours would not be a good idea because it would do more harm than good. Also, if you are going to make public smoking illegal, then you might as well illegalize drinking coffee in public and energy drinks, using sleeping pills or Ritline, because all of those are addictive and have harmful side effects.

  2. Yes I would, and I already did!

It is illegal in Ohio to smoke w/ in 20 feet of a public building.  NO public buildings have legal smoking areas, not even a smoking section!  Airports and Hospitals have designated rooms for it.

    Greatest law of the decade.

  3. No. Even if I didn't smoke.

  4. No.I am a smoker.

  5. While ever its legal it would be unethical to ban it from every single public place.

  6. No, I wouldn't support that law.  I do support smoking sections and no smoking in closed in places such as schools, restaurants, etc.  I would even support no smoking laws in public parks.  But if I want to walk down a sidewalk with a cig in hand I think I should have that right.

  7. All the opinions on the smoking ban .  If government could be trusted not to abuse power there would be no need for a Bill of Rights. Power always corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Government has  passed  unconstitutional laws to oppress and victimize the people for financial gain. Seat belt laws passed under the guise of safety giving police an excuse to stop people are unconstitutional. Dictating our safety because we aren't capable of making that choice ourselves .Yet government can let  millions of our children can get on school buses every day with out seat belts. Seat belt laws have generated millions of dollars in fines to the state. Now they dictate what people can do on  property we pay tax on. Which affects our ability to earn a living and support our families . Legislators know the law is unconstitutional . They blatantly ignore the constitution they by law and oath swore to obey. A judge sworn by oath and by law to support the constitution violates his responsibility to the people and rules for the state. Legislators aren't concerned that violating the constitution will hurt small business or cause them to close .They want to burden these people and their customers with fines for  the state. When the ban causes the same loss revenue to the state, cassino's are exempt. Our government at every level has become so corrupt its only  purpose is to rob and prey on the people. Passing unconstitutional laws forcing people into submission with an army of police. People have become so use to obeying any law the state has unrestricted power to make anything a crime. We are voluntarily enslaving ourselves to government . Brain washed by corporate media and the smoke screen of safety to cover the ulterior motive. Which is not for the good of the people. When judges violate the constitution and are biased to  government .What legal remedy is there. People say its the law so you have to obey it. Isn't that what German's thought about the n**i government. You can see to what extent they obeyed laws with out question by government and how right they were . Look at America ( Land of the Free )

Imprisoning the people the leading industry. Again under the guise of public safety . Our economy is on the verge of collapse ,our money is worth nothing ,the price of every thing  has doubled. Our government has lied , invaded countries, declared war illegally, over taxed us, spent trillions we don't have. Forced society to accept living on credit and debt . Stripped the people of  rights and protections and liberty in the bill of rights .All  for our safety and security. Taken all  justice for the people out of our courts. Our judges have traded honor and truth for political interests granting government witnesses immunity for lying. Our country is not even owned by Americans. Our children's destiny and future will be a life of misery, oppression and tyranny and total enslavement to a dictatorial government .

  8. Yes. If someone wants to make the choice and smoke, fine. However forcing that choice and the health risks that go with it onto other people is highly immoral.

  9. yes, because I am in a wheelchair and I often get it right in the face when a person is holding a cigarette in a public place  and I am extremely allergic.  It is a  nuisance
