Lawn care help please!?

i live in a neighborhood where everyone pampers their lawn (really, instead of going to mass on sunday morning, everyone's out mowing/treating their yards!) and my yard has a lot of crab grass and bare spots. what can i do to get a lush lawn?

mow it down real short!, im mean real short OK?,then make sure your getting proper water coverage then reseed the whole area and put  mulch over the seed. keep moist.

I agree, pay for a lawn service. If you don't wish to put in the time and labor that it takes to maintain a great lawn.

Truthfully, I'd just call ChemLawn.  They're not as expensive as they seem--about $30 a month for 1/2 acre was all they charged me.  They come out, analyze it, treat it, fertilize it, and tell you how best to cut and maintain it.  I think they even spot seed.  Of course, you have to cut it!
