Lawn full of weeds?

No matter what I do my lawn is always full of weeds. Right now there are more weeds than grass. Last year I tried weed killer but ended up with a bare lawn. What am I doing wrong?

go to lowes, home depot, and ask them what they suggest and they will help

When choosing a weed killer to use in your lawn you need to make sure you have the correct type.

Some common grasses used in lawns are targeted by weed killers. For example our lawn is Kikuyu which is hardy and drought tolerant. BUT some lawn sprays are made to kill Kikuyu - so obviously I can use this type.

Best advice is to pop along to your local nursery and ask their advice for the best type for your lawn.

I used to spray my entire lawn with weed killer and never lost the grass, maybe the strength you use is too much?

cover your lawn with sand and cover completely.water twice a week duringdry season but if raining inspect  and pull out all weeds. add inorganic fertiliser after removing weeds .

Weed killer can also kill grass....   Ortho Weed-B-Gon Max kills only the weeds.

Lowes, Walmart, Home Depot all carry it infact most all garden centers do.

I buy the concentrate and put it in the ortho sprayer and attach to my garden hose.
