Lawn grubs?

I recently poured salt on dandelions in my lawn which has eradicated them, leaving small holes where the roots were. Yesterday i found small white legless grubs (very small) in these holes - what are they and how do I get rid?

  1. Any brand of "granular lawn insecticide". You can get them at any garden center.

    Good Luck,  ;-)

  2. They sound like "grubs", they eat the roots of plants and trees.  Sprinkle diazinon (sp) over your lawn and water it in real good.  That should take care of the nasty buggers.

  3. Spray some c**p on them, like deodorant and then burn them.

  4. These are the larvae of the crane fly

  5. Grubs are japanese beetle babies. The beetle lands in your yard the year before and lays it's eggs in the soil. The following year the eggs hatch and out comes the larvae(grubs). They feast on grass roots killing the plant, thus browning the top layer. Skunks and squirrels will also destroya lawn rooting for the grubs. Go to your local Home Depot or Lowes and ask which product is best for your locale and climate. Diazanon is not sold any more. Best of luck to you. Oh, if you buy beetle traps do not put them anywhere near your plants.

  6. i heard that daddy long legs lay eggs in the grass and they grow to become grub like things !! Might be those ?

  7. Sounds like Chafer Beetles they feed off dandelion roots

then fly straigt out of the ground in late June to the top of your house in swarms where they mate.  Looks and sound like Hornets but are harmless

  8. Go to Lowes and buy Bayer Lawn Grub control, make sure you get the one that kills for the entire season.
