Question:

Lawnmower won't work right, fairly new too!?

We recently bought a Poulan lawnmower (this one: http://www.poulanpro.com/poulanpro/viewProductDetails.do?productID=238) and have used it twice before and it ran fine. This time, the mower started up, but won't continue running. We've used the same type of gas at the right mixture, so gas can't be the issue. And taking it back would be hard, as you would have to prove that it was a manufacturer defect, which can be difficult. Any suggestions?

  1. Lawn mowers don't need a special gas, so if you mixed it with oil that is the problem, they have an oil reservoir the oil goes in. Make sure you set the choke to start it and then set it to the idle speed to run it, there is a valve you need to turn on so the gas will flow when it is being used and you turn it off when storing it.

  2. What size mower , What type and horse power is the engine ?

  3. over here in australia that type of mower would be running a 4 stroke motor ,so unleaded petrol goes in the  tank and oil in the bottom of motor ,check your spark plug and clean, check to make sure you got the petrol tap turn on not off ,if it does,nt go now ,take it back to the shop you have a two year warrenty on it.
