Lawrie McMenemy hails http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – Premier League Update
Southampton legend, Lawrie McMenemy has gone ahead and hailed Arsenal winger and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Oxlade-Chamberlain. McMenemy strongly feels that the youngster is already proving his worth for the Gunners, despite being so young. He also
feels that Chamberlain is going to turn into a far more complete player than Walcott, sooner rather than later.
Chamberlain’s career has unravelled a lot like Walcott’s, with both the players joining Arsenal from Southampton at a very young age. However, many believe that the technique and mentality that Chamberlain possesses, makes him far more superior than Walcott
and is going to make him a much more complete player.
"He is like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873 but a stronger version," McMenemy told reporters.
"http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Ball used to see Theo every week, and he used to say he had speed, but needs to learn to play with other players. But I think that Alex has got that already at 18.
"He is a genuine team player. That's his strength. For his age he is a more complete player than Theo."
McMenemy also believes that having a father who was an England international and a professional footballer, has had a very positive impact on the player.
He continued: "You can tell that his dad was a pro. And I think that that has helped off the field, especially these days in preparing him against any mistakes he may have made himself - not to fall into that.”
So far Chamberlain has had very few opportunities to represent Arsenal, but the performances that he has put in, have made almost every single critic hail the forward. Wenger himself has revealed that he has big plans for the player and hopes to develop
him into a more central player in the future.
Nonetheless, with Walcott not really managing to live up to his expectations so far this season, Wenger might just be looking to test Chamberlain in more upcoming games for Arsenal in the near future.
