Question:

Laws about big parties on private camp grounds?

If I were to have a pretty big graduation party for a weekend with many people of age and over but mostly minors, around 17/18, in a private property camp ground, could I get arrested or anything like that?

It'd be a paid admission kind of event so I need to know that it wouldn't get "busted", for lack of a better word.

And if so, then what could I do or fix to make sure it didn't?

  1. If you are drinking alcohol under the age of 21 on private or public property you can get arrested!

  2. You can expect to get arrested for committing a felony:

"Contributing to the delinquency of a minor"

    Consider this:

If any minor left your gathering and got into a FATAL automobile accident, are YOU willing to accept the blame?

In essence, you have predetermined the possibility simply by asking here.  Unless you have a superior adult, you "OWN" any mishaps.

If there is a fight, will you pay for medicals?  If there is a rape, will you pay for the child?  If there is vandalism or theft, will you bear the burden of any minor's  acivity?

    What should you do?

Invite the police in advance.  Let them know of your concerns, and thus place burden away from you.

I have held such a party, not intending to allow under-age, but I alerted police to alleviate "situations".  They sent out under-cover invitees, and when issues arose, they became reliable witnesses, stating my intent was to not breach lawful entertainment.

There is nothing wrong with your intent, but know that you cannot control everyone.  Be selective of who is invited (or arrives), and keep the spirit light.

    Seek guidance of responsible elders.

  3. Sure, you can do any thing you want on a private campground.  All laws are suspended.

  4. If there is alcohol present and any of the minors ( under 21 ) are drinking then yes you can get arrested for providing alcohol to a minor.  If you are a minor also, then you can be charged with possession of alcohol by a minor and who ever provided the alcohol can be charged as stated above.

  5. when they crash those parties they can never, I repeat NEVER, arrest everybody

just DONT provide alcohol to people under 21, buy a whole c**p load of pink and green wrist bands

and tag people with pink(if they're under 19) and the rest green

BEFORE YOU LET THEM IN THE HOUSE!

  6. You would be on private property as an event place.

The owner of the camp ground, then becomes the responsible party, to any activity that takes place illegally.

Like the owner of a bar, he is responsible, to ensure nobody underage, is allowed into premise and is not allowed to drink.

Also if someone does leave your party and for GOD sake has an accident or cause another to have an accident, Jail or Prison time could be charged?

So think responsibly, when you think about putting your life on the line, for a PARTY.

When you go to Jail, or prison, you will see how many true friends you have.
