Laws of being a server at the age of 19 in CA?

So I need to know what the law is with being a server when I'mam 19.

Its at a fancy Italian Restaurantnt which sell a lot of wine.

Is it legal for me to serve it?

pour it?

is thier any kind of limitation on it in the first place?

i need sources to please

  1. Okay is CA for Canada or California?

    I know in Canada or at least BC because each province has different laws around this it is legal to serve alcohol once you turn 19. If this is of interest I recommend taking the Serving it Right course as it will make you more employable and also teach you the laws around serving alcohol. There are times where you can be found liable for serving too much alcohol and it could end up with you being unemployed and maybe sued or legally responsible. The last two are not usually the case unless the owner can prove they told you to stop serving and you went above and beyond your rights as an employee. Once you are 19 you can serve and pour alcohol.


  2. You can be a server in CA but not a bartender until you're 21.
