  1. You cant realy do anything about it unless you signed some kind of contract.

  2. You have the right to sell it to someone else or go get it fixed. When buying a used car, the buyer assumes all risk. Used cars sold by a private party are always "as is".

  3. There are no laws or rights. You bought a used car. It was your responsibility to check it over before buying.

  4. did you know it was salvaged title?

The guy saying it runs great won't hold up in court. If you're looking to use a lemon law, you won't get far.

  5. Buyer beware. You should have had the car checked before you bought it. Once you bought it, it's yours problems and all.

  6. Used = as is.  Salvage title tells you it has been wrecked to the point where the repairs were more than the worth of the vehicle.  What a private party (or a salesman in a dealership) says it worth exactly zero.  If it isn't written down, forget it.

    Laws?  None.  Rights?  Caveat emptor

Latin for "Let the buyer beware." The idea that buyers take responsibility for the condition of the items they purchase and should examine them before purchase. This is especially true for items that are not covered under a strict warranty. See, e.g. SEC v. Zandford, 535 U.S. 813 (2002).
