Question:

Laws on child pornography?

Me and my friend were having a discussion, we wanted to know if you can get arrested for accidentally stumbling upon child p**n. Also, what if you ended up watching a video on the internet with a perfectly normal title and it ended up being child p**n? Will the police come bursting through our door?

Also, do you really get monitored and watched online? Does simply typing in "child p**n" in a search engine for any website of any kind get marked and get you in trouble? O__o

T__T I don't want to get in trouble for something I never did. I'm not even 18 yet! I myself am still a kid.

  1. I've NEVER stumbled upon child p**n.  That is sick who would even want to google that ish, If they do they deserve to go to jail.

  2. i think it has to be on your hard drive, DVD, etc for you to be arrested, so if you accidentally stumbled upon it i would think you wouldn't be in any trouble.

As for typing child p**n into search engines, i don't know if they can monitor that, its confidential unless your ISP shows the police/whoever your log or the search engine shows the police/whoever their log.

I don't believe that many search engines would care much about it if you did just type child p**n anyway, you could just be interested in who has been caught lately for having child p**n.

So yeah i think you are safe unless you have child p**n on your hard drive, dvd or anywhere else, own a site with child p**n on it, or you searched something really typical of a petophial, like... i don't know, use your imagination.

  3. No the police will not come barging in your door.

some sites may flag some IP addresses to see if theyre constantly searching for or posting child p**n.

since it is illegal, i doubt youd find much of it on the internet anyway.

most of the time child p**n is found when someone takes their computer to be fixed at a shop and the person fixing the computer finds the child p**n on the computer and reports it to the police.
