Laws regarding importing goods into RSA?

hi everyone, i have recently visited pakistan, where i discovered how cheap was house hold appliances and cloths, i've decided to import a 20 foot container of goods into RSA, BUT i have 1 problem, i don't know where to start, and i don't know where to find out regarding laws regarding importing, duty, clearance etc, and my my second concern is weather it is fees able, as i am afraid it will cost me more to import then the profit i will make. can someone please advice me... thank you,

do you have a company set up? (you need one). do you have the money to buy the products? are you bankable? in other words, are you creditworthy enough to borrow money from a bank? talk to a freight forwarder. talk to the US dept of commerce re: import and export regulations. is there a market for these products in RSA? (what is RSA???) what is the quality? are you prepared to handle a loss if customers dont like the products? will you have a storefront? did you consider any of this.
