Laxman counts Lee among the fastest bowlers he’s faced – Cricket News Update
Indian batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Brett-Lee-c48419, claiming the 35-year-old is among the quickest bowlers he has faced.
Reminiscing about their first meeting, Laxman said that he first met Lee when the right-armer visited http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 with an Australian youth team, adding that he was “the quickest bowler at that age”.
“We (the India U-19 team) had not played anyone as quick as Lee till then,” Laxman said. “Pace apart, Lee was a very aggressive and competitive bowler.”
Following his under-19 days, Lee went on to debut for the national side in 1999, during a Test match against India at Melbourne, during which he claimed an impressive 7 for 78. Despite a career interrupted frequently by injuries (mostly owing to a troublesome
elbow and ankle), the Aussie pacer went on to play a total of 76 Tests, with 310 wickets to his credit, and 221 ODIs with 380 scalps – one wicket short of Australia’s top ODI wicket-taker http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Glenn-Donald-McGrath-c60183.
Impressive performances included a 9 for 171 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 at Adelaide in November 2008, and Lee also featured prominently in T20 tournaments.

Bash League (in which he plays for the Sydney Sixers).
“He was not just quick, but he could swing the ball at good pace, that was his hallmark,” Laxman remembered, paying tribute to the Aussie quick. “He would always try to get on top of the batsman irrespective of the pitch conditions and how well the batsman
played. He was always game for a challenge. He (Lee) and Shoaib (Akhtar) were the quickest bowlers I faced.”
