Lay Time and Cameron Highland to instigate an interesting clash in the Dubai Duty Free Arc Trial
A moderate but highly versatile line-up of five three-year-old and above contenders has collected for the Group 3 Dubai Duty Free Arc Trial. The two high light entries of the £31,191 event are Lay Time and Cameron Highland. The former has displayed his potential
at the graded level already, while the latter is looking forward to make intriguing news from the race at Newbury on Saturday, 22nd September, 2012. Both the rivals posted in their last success on 25th August.
Galileo’s four-year-old bay filly, Lay Time, has raced five times during the new season, and claimed the very last outing only, that too a graded event.
The Andrew Balding trained won the Group 3 totepool.com Winter Hill Stakes on 25th August, 2012 at Windsor over a mile and two furlongs.
In the capable hands of jockey, Jimmy Fortune, the four-year-old took keen pursuit of the leaders, and ranked second in the field of six by the time there remained the final two furlongs to be raced over.
The trip turned challenging, but even then the bay filly managed a temporary lead with the final furlong out. Her prominence in the decisive stages of the race was over shadowed by, Primevere. Holding on to the pace, the filly out of, Time Saved, escaped
defeat by a nose’s margin.
Coming at terms with the third position was the favourite entry, Grandeur.
The 3 to 1 shot for the race is backed up by the same connections, and will race from the fifth stall.
A threatening entry in the line-up is the three-year-old bay colt, Cameron Highland. He does lack experience, but his drastic improvement cannot be undermined.
Three out of the five 2012 campaign outings have been successful.
The Roger Varian conditioned won the Totepool August Stakes (Listed Race) on 25th August, 2012 at Windsor over a mile and 3 ½ furlongs. Riding with jockey, Neil Callan, Cameron Highland won by an impressive margin of 4 ½ lengths, and set Goldoni,
as the runner-up.
The Irish bay colt is supported by 11 to 8 odds, and will break from the third gate to race over the mile, three furlong and 5 yards.
