Layman's report on energy conservation.?

i need a very basic report on energy conservation. not much details. just basic backdrop. why the need for conservation, what are renewable sources, what we need to do to conserve. etc etc

Why conserve?

Save money, avoid consuming more habitat, reduce use of fossil fuels - reduce global warming, reduce pollution.

Renewable sources?

Solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal, wave, tidal, biomass.

What to conserve?

Gasoline & Diesel, Electricity, goods (paper, plastics, things in general, avoid using, recycle or reuse).
