I have a round trip flight from Atlanta to London this august. I will be flying back to London from Athens, Greece and arriving at 3:30 (pm) in the afternoon Saturday. I will fly into Heathrow. I leave the next morning at 12 (pm) in the afternoon from Gatwick on Sunday. Any recommendations of what I could do during this short time?

  1. Honestly?  Sleep.

You'll get your luggage by 4:30pm, and then have to get to a hotel.  The next day you'll have to be at the airport by 10am at the earliest, so all the time you have is really just the evening.

It's 15 minutes to Paddington station on the Heathrow Express, and I'd go to Westminster for a tiny bit of sightseeing and perhaps a trip on the London Eye.  Then I'd have dinner, or go to a local pub, and head back to the hotel.

August is usually good weather so if you want to go out and party, I'd go to Covent Garden and Leicester Square - there's loads to do in that area.  You could stay up all night and sleep on the plane home (which would help with jetlag).
