The Rossoneri failed to take advantage of moving top of the table, as strikes from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tommaso-Rocchi-c35374 downed them at Stadio Olimpico Rome
The second-half got off to a controversial start, as Ibrahimovic flicked the ball in the centre for El-Shaarawy, but Dias cleared the ball with his palm. The referee pointed to the spot but his assistant over-ruled the decision.
Replays showed that the visitors were robbed by the referee, as the Lazio defender intentionally handled the ball. Milan were furious with the assistant’s decision, as Massimo Ambrosini’s curling effort went just wide of the goal.
Lazio made their first-change of the evening, as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marius-Stankevicius-c24085, replaced the controversial figure, Dias. The Brazilian was holding his hamstring before heading to the tunnel.
Right-back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Abdoulay-Konko-c3249 bustled his way into the opposition box before unleashing a cheeky effort, which was tipped away to safety by Abbiati.
Ambrosini picked up a yellow card for a cynical foul on Hernanes in the 60th minute. The Rossoneri skipper was booed by the home fans for his poor challenge.
A Minute later, Ambrosini let fly a vicious strike from 35 yards which whistled just wide of the far post. That could have been a sensational goal from the veteran had the shot been on target.
Massimiliano Allegri made a double change in the 66th minute; as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Clarence-Seedorf-c9275 and Urby Emanuelson came on for Ambrosini and El-Shaarawy respectively.
Stefan Radu was blocked by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-Silva-c34903 just outside the penalty area, and the hosts had a huge shout for penalty which was turned down by the referee. Rocchi was shown a yellow card for his protests. Minutes later, the Biancazzurri
skipper was lucky to stay on the pitch, as he escaped his second booking for a late challenge on Silva.
As the game started to get a bit tetchy, the hosts broke the deadlock through Hernanes in the 76th minute. Rocchi flicked the ball in the box for the Brazilian, who calmly slotted his shot past Abbiati to make it 1-0
for Lazio.
Milan looked unhappy with the refereeing decisions, as they believed that they should have been awarded a penalty and the Lazio skipper should have been sent off.
The Champions made an attacking change immediately after conceding the goal, as Maxi Lopez replaced Van Bommel in the 79th minute.
The capital club could have doubled their advantage a minute later, as Hernanes found himself in a similar position to the goal he scored earlier, but he fired his shot wide of the post by few inches.
Milan looked desperate for an equaliser, but Rocchi added insult to their injury by doubling his team’s advantage with a powerful effort at the near post. Lulic made a lovely run on the left-flank before releasing the ball to his
skipper, who blasted his shot into the top corner to make it 2-0.
The Champions looked down and out after the second strike, as they suffered their first league defeat to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 since 1998.
