The Biancazzurri technical director expresses disappointment after failing to sign the CSKA Moscow striker and a failed move for the Villarreal hitman
Lazio were believed to be closing in on the signing of CSKA Moscow striker, Keisuka Honda, on the last day of the January transfer window, but the stubborn Russian side rejected their bid.
Club technical director, Igli Tare, revealed that his club’s initial offer for the Japanese international was rejected by CSKA, and they rejected another offer which was almost three times better than the first bid. Tare admitted
to the complexity of the winter transfer market and believes that it is extremely difficult to convince a club to sell their best players in January.
While talking to the reporters, Igli Tare said,
“As I have said before, in January these are difficult market conditions and in these negotiations everyone takes excessive advantage. CSKA did not accept our proposal, which was improved two or three times. We have taken note
of their decision. The distance was between supply and demand, not the mode of payment.”

Tare admitted that they tried their luck with a cheeky bid for the Brazilian but unfortunately nothing went according to the plan.
“Nilmar was a little sceptical because in the final two hours we had everything to still do, and eventually we took another decision.”
