Lazio boss, Edy Reja, has expressed his frustration on not qualifying for the UEFA Champions League next season. He stated that a loss to Udinese earlier this month proved to be the turning point as the Udine side snatched the
UEFA Champions League place on the last day of the Italian Serie A season.

Reja rued missed opportunities and claimed that Zarate’s penalty miss against Udinese was crucial. He stated that if the Argentinean had scored it would have been a totally different story altogether. The Italian admitted that
there have been mistakes in the season and that they could have gone finished fourth but the results against the better sides were not good enough.
“It makes us very bitter, especially considering we lost the decisive match with Udinese, wasting a penalty. Clearly some of the blame has to be ours, as we also failed to get the points against big clubs. We still got 66 points,
the same as Udinese, so we were both the surprise outfits of this season,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.

up with the other top clubs in the league.
“I thank the club for giving me such a strong squad and from next week we’ll start talking about the transfer strategy to complete the team,” the tactician further added.
Lazio have had a brilliant season after finishing 12th in the Serie A last term. They have won 20 of the 38 games played and lost twelve, scoring 55 goals in the process.
