Lazio striker Mauro Zarate available at €20m, confirms the agent: Serie A news
The agent of Lazio striker, Mauro Zarate, has revealed that his client is available for sale at 20-million-Euros but admits no one has come up with a concrete offer as yet.
Zarate is reportedly unhappy and is looking to make a move away from the club. The former Birmingham City striker’s future has been surrounded by more uncertainty since Lazio completed the signings of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Miroslav-Klose-c26049 and Djibril
Cisse.
The Argentine had a less than impressive 2010/11 campaign and managed to find the back of the net on only 9 occasions in 36 matches. His poor form also cost his side UEFA Champions League place for the upcoming season.
The 24-year-old has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe. English sides, Sunderland and Bolton Wanderers were interested in signing him alongside Paris Saint Germain.
The French side, PSG, has been monitoring the striker’s situation for the past few weeks and are reportedly weighing up a move for him. However, the player’s agent has made it clear that the forward is not for sale for anything
less than the quoted price.
The agent also admitted that PSG Sporting Director, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056, met him during a match but they did not have any discussion regarding his client.
Talking to the reporters the agent said, “Zarate’s price-tag is €20m and he is absolutely not for sale at below that sum. Nobody, so far, has offered that. This is why he’s staying at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775.”
“I met Leonardo a few weeks ago in London for the Emirates Cup, but he didn’t ask me anything about Zarate. Besides, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Pastore-c18082 arriving this summer, I’d say PSG are complete in that area.”
Lazio are looking to make amends for the Champions League miss by winning the Europa League in the upcoming campaign and have strengthened their squad in all departments this summer. Manager Edy Reja is reportedly unhappy with
Zarate and has told the bosses to find buyers for him.
Zarate joined the Italian outfit in 2008 and has made more than 100 appearances for the club thus far.
