Okay so this new little prick guy started at my work, he will not address me at all when I speck, he is lazy and will not do work, no answering the phone nothing. How can I calm myself down to just ignore him? I find myself getting so angry by the time I get home at night because of him.

  1. Murder. Its the only way.

  2. pity him. think that you're so sorry he's just too miserable that he doesn't have anything better to do. you're so sorry that judging from how he acts, you'll get a faster promotion because you're the nice calm and hardworking guy.

    then ignore him. :)

  3. How about you just focus on getting your own work done?  It won't take your boss long to figure out that the new guy isn't pulling his weight.

  4. Don't worry about him. I know lazy people are incredibly annoying. The best thing to do is to focus on getting your own work done. Force him to fend for himself. Don't help him out at all.

His laziness is not your problem. When he falls behind in his work because of it (and they always do), he'll either learn from his mistakes and straighten up so it won't happen again or continue the behavior get fired.

  5. Does your job REQUIRE any of this?  If you are just talking to be social, stop.  He isn't worth the breath.  But if your job requires you to communicate with him and he is ignoring you, I'd walk up to him and find out if he is hard of hearing.  My boss can't hear out of his right ear so I always have to make sure I'm not on that side of his body.

He is lazy and doesn't work.  Does that affect you?  Does his lack of performance affect your performance?  If so, you need to go talk to your boss as soon as possible in order to get someone to discuss the job responsibilities with him.  As he is new, he may not know what to do.

If his job is not reflective on yours at all, then completely ignore him.  It is not worth the effort in getting mad at him every day.  You will end up stressed and constantly frustrated which won't affect anything but making you negative.

  6. He should be his supervisor's concern, not yours.  If his lack of work is affecting your job performance, then you should bring your concerns to your supervisor.  Otherwise, mind your own business.  It's not worth it to let your job performance suffer because of a co-worker.
