  1. It depends on a number of factors, each are better at certain things. Although I will admit it would appear that to most people lcd's are better.

plasma tv's usually way much more and have glare issues because, they use two sheets of glass with glass trapped in between them.

Also plasma tv's can get burn in caused by a still image on the screen for an extended amount of time.

Not to mention the fact that lcd's are generally more energy efficient than plasma tv's are.

One advantage of a plasma is that if your watching non high definition tv on a tv 40" or larger it will look better than it would on an lcd.  (under 40" it won't matter").

so if you watch a lot of television get  high definition cable, I would recommend Lcd more so than plasma televisions.

  2. It all depends on your lighting.

Plasmas are great in dark rooms,

but LCD's are  great in lighter rooms.

personal I like plasmas and they last just as long as

    a LCD.

Watch this video it will help http://www.cnet.com.au/tvs/0,239035250,2...

  3. 40" is borderline for whether to get an LCD or plasma. Any smaller and I'd get an LCD, any bigger and it has to be plasma.

There's a summary of the differences between the two types of screen in the link below. Hope that helps!

  4. lcd- plasmas die in a year, and aren't as good!

  5. Lcd. My bf refuses to even look at plasma. for one they don't last as long, and he has a huge list of why to go for LCD. Try BuyDig,com. We bought our 52" LCD Sony there for $1000 less than in the stores and they were very good with customer service and they shipped it very well. We love it and it's been doing great for over a year now.
