  1. It depends on where the TV will be placed also.

If the TV is going in a room with many windows, then an LCD is better because of the non-glare issue that Plasma's have (its like tube TV's with the reflection.)

If the TV is going to be in a basement or something, then a Plasma is the way to go as they produce a more true-to-life picture. Plasma has better contrast ratios (range of colours, which means better blacks) and also a faster response time, making images and scenes lag-free.

Although, cartoons do show better on LCD because of the brighter picture it produces.

  2. PLASMA GIVES BETTER  RESULTS.

  3. Buy LCD............

  4. Liquid Crystal Display Televisions (LCD TV) are televisions that use LCD technology for visual output (producing an image). The technology used is generally TFT, because this allows for size, especially depth reduction, lower weight and reduced energy consumption. These LCD screens are also used as computer monitors.

A plasma display panel (PDP) is a type of flat panel display now commonly used for large TV displays (typically above 37-inch or 940 mm). Many tiny cells located between two panels of glass hold an inert mixture of noble gases (neon and xenon). The gas in the cells is electrically turned into a plasma which then excites phosphors to emit light.

both r good..but comparatively plasma tv is better in clarity and is expensive than lcd tv..if u want more clarity go for plasma tv..lcd is also gud and u can use it for ur pc..

  5. LCD is better, but there is technology coming out soon that will surpass both of these types of tvs.

  6. Plasma vs LCD

The ADVANTAGES of Plasma over LCD are:

    1. Larger screen size availability.

    2. Better contrast ratio and ability to render deeper blacks.

    3. Better color accuracy and saturation.

    4. Better motion tracking (little or no motion lag in fast moving images).

The DISADVANTAGES of Plasma vs LCD include:

    1. Plasma TVs are more susceptible to burn-in of static images.

    2. Plasma TVs generate more heat than LCDs, due to the need to light of phosphors to create the images.

    3. Does not perform as well at higher altitudes.

    4. Shorter display life span (about 30,000 hours or 8 hrs of viewing a day for 9 years) than LCD. However, screen life span is improving to as high as 60,000 hours. due to technology improvements.

LCD television ADVANTAGES over Plasma include:

    1. No burn-in of static images.

    2. Cooler running temperature.

    3. No high altitude use issues.

    4. Increased image brightness over Plasma.

    5. Longer display life (about 60,000 hours - at which time all you may need to do is replace the light source, not the entire set). This can vary according other environmental and use factors.

    6. Lighter weight (when comparing same screen sizes) than Plasma counterparts.

DISADVANTAGES of LCD vs Plasma televisions include:

    1. Lower contrast ratio, not as good rendering deep blacks.

    2. Not as good at tracking motion (fast moving objects may exhibit lag artifacts) - However, this is improving.

    3. Not as common in large screen sizes above 42-inches as Plasma. However, the number is growing fast, with some LCD sets having a screen size as large as 65-inches now available to the general public.

    4. Although LCD televisions do not suffer from burn-in susceptibility, it is possible that individual pixels on an LCD televisions can burn out, causing small, visible, black or white dots to appear on the screen. Individual pixels cannot be repaired, the whole screen would need to be replaced at that point, if the individual pixel burnout becomes annoying to you.

    5. LCD televisions are typically more expensive than equivalent-sized Plasma televisions (although this is changing), especially when comparing EDTV Plasmas to HDTV-LCD Televisions.

  7. I think that  LCD is much better than plasma. leave their cost, but , in other things lcd is good. In lcd the picture is much clearer than in plasma. and many others too. S o if u want to buy  it , then u should buy lcd. BYE!!1

  8. I have a plasma tv, a Panasonic....my roomates each have lcd displays.

Here are things I've noticed....theirs have very poor black level....the screen looks like a dark shade of gray when it should be black. Color depth isn't as good as plasma. I wouldn't say the colors are dull or anything with lcd but they don't compare to plasma. Sure the plasma screens generate more heat, but hey it's winter I don't mind. Screen burn? don't leave your game on pause. I know some plasmas are bad for screen burn, but my panasonic has not had that issue yet. Life span? who said that plasmas only have 30,000 hours....mine has 60,000 and the higher end panasonic plasma displays go up to 100,000 hours.

  9. Plasma gives you a much better picture.  Especially black level.

  10. lcd...plasma's got a glare to it

  11. LCD is better

it is more expensive but is very clear

  12. I prefer LCD TV...

because LCD TV much brighter and clearer than Plasma TV...
