Le Bec favourite for Hampton Court Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race

the Le Bec has earned the confidence of the bookmakers for the Hampton Court Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race at Sandown in England on Friday, February 24, 2012. The class-5 race has a winning cash prize of £1,949.
The two metres 110 yards race has attracted seven entries and they are: Le Bec, Sleepy, Sky Watch, Drum Valley, Alpancho, Lieutenant George and Cardinal Richelieu.
Out of these seven runners, Le Bec is likely to prevail in the race, as he has the best record amongst all the young participants. He has entered the NHF once and finished runner up by a couple of lengths.
The four-year-old gelding was the favourite to win that race as well, but was unable to make an impression on the race winner. However, his trainer, Emma Lavelle, will be expecting a better show this time around.
Le Bec will be partnered by jockey, Noel Fehily, in this race. He is a seasoned rider and has got 20 NHF victories to his name. He will be looking forward to win another race and improve his overall winning percentage.
Nicky Henderson’s trained gelding, Sleepy, will also be taking part in the event. The veteran trainer will be hoping of bagging the cash prize of £1,949 by winning today. However, his horse does not have a very good record in the only NHF race he took part
in.
Sleepy ended seventh in that race, but is capable of displaying better speed this time around. He will be ridden by Barry Geraghty, jockey who is quite capable of winning races.
Barry Geraghty has earned 31 NHF victories and will be looking forward to add one more to that tally.
Drum Valley, trained by Oliver Sherwood, is the only other runner, who has taken part in a NHF race. However, he was unable to make a solid impression that time around, finishing seventh.
The four-year-old gelding will be partnered by jockey, Dominic Elsworth, who has earned 10 NHF victories till date.
Although the bettors will be keeping an eye on the top three favourites, there might be a surprise from some of the other runners, as they are yet to show their potential at this level.
