The former Rotherham United striker has insisted that his side can build on the goalless draw against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup’s men on Boxing Day, while admitting that they deserved to claim a point after putting in a solid show throughout the 90 minutes.
Reading striker, Adam le Fondre, has hailed his side’s 0-0 stalemate against Swansea City at Madejski Stadium on Wednesday, December 26.
The 26-year-old insisted that his side put in a decent performance against Manchester City last weekend, though, they failed to bag even a point, and stressed that they deserved to claim a good result on Boxing Day after putting in another solid show.
“It was a good performance last week at Man City and I felt that we brought that performance to Swansea. I don't think it was a great game to watch, but we frustrated them and it was important that we didn't lose. It's a great clean sheet for us as a team
after we've been conceding quite a few goals. We needed to stop that and we did”, Le Fondre was quoted as saying to the club’s official website.
The former Rotherham United attacker, who arrived at Madejski Stadium in the summer of 2011, went on stress that his side can build on to the goalless draw just like Norwich City.
“It's a building block. I think Norwich built from one game and then went ten games unbeaten - we've got to take a leaf out of their book”, Le Fondre added.
The Royals at last managed to grab a point after suffering seven defeats in a row. They will take on West Ham United in their upcoming English Premier League game on Saturday, December 29.
And the 26-year-old, who has thus far represented Reading in over 50 games in all competitions, has warned his teammates about the potential threat they will be facing at the hands of the Hammers.
“It's always a big game against West Ham and it always seems to bring the best out of our fans”, Le Fondre concluded.
The Englishman would be hoping that his side put in another decent performance in their upcoming Premier League game, and bag a point or more to keep their hopes of avoiding relegation to Npower Championship alive come the end of the season.
