Le King Beau to dictate the terms of the Dermot O’Leary Stakes at Goodwood
Goodwood will become home for the Class 4 Dermot O’Leary Stakes (Handicap) over six furlongs on Friday, 15th June. The £5,175 prize money will get contested by six three-year-old runners.
Among the candidates contesting, an entry with a recent experience at Goodwood is Le King Beau, Leroidesanimaux’s three-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Berine.
He scored second in the TurfTV For Betting Shops Bonus Handicap on 25th May at Goodwood over five furlongs. He parked after covering the 1 ¼ lengths’ gap by which the winner, the 7/2 favourite, Blanc De Chine, led.
Coming at terms with the third position was Ring For Baileys.
Another commendable entry for the race is Love Tale, Lucky Story’s three-year-old chestnut filly out of mare, Bold Love. She cracked into the season on 26th April in the Gatwickdiamondjobs.Com Handicap at Brighton over six furlongs.
She won the race in partnership with Fergus Sweeney and the two led the 5/6 favourite of the race, Mayo Lad, by 1 ¾ lengths. Filling up the third slot was Conowen.
The three-year-old then won the Manor Farm Meats Handicap (Division II) on 17th May at Salisbury over six furlongs. Love Tale was the 11/4 favourite winner with Fergus Sweeney onboard for a second time. The two led the runner up of the race, Ashpan
Sam, by two lengths.
Coming at terms with the third position was New Decade.
The back to back wins were headed for a hat trick but the possibility of it dissolved with the failure in the very next race.
Love Tale qualified as the 13/8 favourite runner up of the Watch Royal Ascot Live On ATR Handicap on 1st June at Brighton over six furlongs. The winner of the race was Show Flower who led the track by just half a length.
Settling third behind the winner was Ashpan Sam.
She has not raced at Goodwood and today will be her first race there through the fourth outing of the new season.
Le King Beau leads with experience at the race course and also when it comes to the number of races thus his chances today are quite concrete.
