LeBron James, Chris Paul and Kevin Durant to join Carmelo Anthony in Palestra showdown - NBA News
With the NBA lockout now in its third month and no progress evident in the standoff, the NBA will have some hoop action this month at one of the most celebrated arena of the college league.
The most exciting part of the event is the participation of some big names from NBA. These stars will be heading to Philadelphia to play an exhibition game in Palestra on the Penn Campus. According to sources, it is a surety that Miami Heat forward LeBron James will pair up with Chris Paul of New Orleans Hornets and Kevin Durant of Oklahoma City Thunder to join Carmelo Anthony in Baltimore All-stars. The Baltimore All-stars will go up against the Philly All-Stars.
Anthony has already to play for ‘Team Melo’ while James, Paul and Durant’s confirmation came late on Monday night.
The organizer of the event Rahim Thompson has confirmed that the exhibition game will take place on 25th September at 6 p.m. Thompson has advised the people to follow up the news of the event on twitter, where they will be able to find a way to buy online tickets as well as find latest updates.
“People need to follow my twitter account and the news is going to be broken. We need to make sure the system works. This is a big event so we have to make sure there are no errors when the tickets go on sale and that we can handle the magnitude of all the people going online and buying the tickets. We are trying to make sure the consumers are taken care of.” Thompson said.
The Philadelphia All-Stars includes Hakim Warrick, Kyle Lowry, Jason Thompson, Wayne Ellington John Salmons and the Morris twins. The Philly native Hakim is up for the challenge and determined to give the Baltimore All-star a tough run on 25th September.
“My Philadelphia All-Stars look forward to getting on the court and proving to Melo and the people of Baltimore/DC that the best ballers come out of Philly,” Hakim said.
On Carmelo Anthony’s statement that he will bring a team that cannot be beaten, Hakim Warrick responded that he also have some surprise entries for the night when his team takes on the Baltimore All-Stars at Palestra.
The NBA fans have to wait and see if Hakim will deliver the same surprise as Anthony did by involving three top players of NBA.
