Miami Heat 94 – Philadelphia 76ers 73
LeBron James
LeBron James outplayed all five starters of the Philadelphia 76ers in the first half of the game.
Midway through the second quarter, the Sixers had a chance when they were within the striking range (28-20), but the Heat took care of that by making a run of 21-11, James led the rally with two successive baskets, the second one
witnessing him dunk with single hand over a key. The Spurt pushed Heat’s lead to a 37-23. James finished with 29 points along with seven rebounds and six assists on the night.
Chris Bosh
Bosh had 21 points and 11 boards to reach his second straight double-double of the series.
Dwyane Wade
Wade, who was suffering from migraine a day before, showed no signs of sickness and thumped 14 points for the Heat.
Chicago Bulls 96 – Indiana Pacers 90
Derrick Rose
Derrick Rose led the Chicago Bulls with his 36 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, as they squeaked past the Indiana Pacers 96-90 and went 2-0 in the best of seven game series. Rose was unstoppable in the final minutes of
the fourth quarter. He scored the last eight points as the Bulls pulled out another dramatic win.
Carlos Boozer
After having a quiet first game, Boozer made healthy contribution in game-2. He scored 17 points and grabbed 16 boards to reach his double-double.
Boston Celtics 96 – New York Knicks 93
Kevin Garnett
Kevin Garnett hit go-ahead hook shot with 14 seconds to go and then stole one four seconds before the game ended, propelling Boston Celtics to another victory over the dwindling New York Knicks, 96-93. Garnett scored 12 points,
10 rebounds and six assist for the Celtics.
Rajon Rondo
Rajon Rondo spearheaded the Celtics with his playoff-high 30 points, four rebounds and seven assists. His 14 points out of 30 came in the first period, when he kept rushing towards the rim.
After the game he said, "I tried to attack Game 1, It's just [that] my lanes were getting blocked."
Carmelo Anthony
The Celtics overcame a monstrous night from the Knicks small forward Carmelo Anthony, who tallied 42 points to match his career playoff-high and he made a new high with 17 boards.
Anthony brought the Knicks back in the game almost single-handedly, as he scored first seven points of the fourth quarter.
The Knicks had a chance when they were just two points behind the Celtics (72-74), at that stage Anthony shared 13 points of Boston’s 18, but he didn’t get much support from the rest of the squad and the Celtics snatch the victory
in the final minute of the game.
Orlando Magic 88 – Atlanta Hawks 82
The Orlando Magic bounced back in the seven game series, as they defeated the Atlanta Hawks in Game 2 of the first-round.
Dwight Howard
Dwight Howard led the Orlando Magic with his 33 points and 19 rebounds, which enabled the Magic to surmount a 10-point deficit en route to the victory. Howard scored 10 points during the spurt.
After the game Howard said, "It's tough. But you can't think about that while you're on the court. You can't think about any pains. You just have to fight through it. ... As much as I get hit and beat on during the game, I just
think about what we're trying to accomplish."
Jameer Nelson
Jameer Nelson helped Magic with his 13 points and eight boards.
