LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Paul Pierce: Top Performers from the Eastern Conference Semifinals (Part 1)
LeBron James
Miami Heat’s LeBron James was a man on a mission in this year’s Eastern Conference semi-finals against the Boston Celtics. Facing a team, which was the very reason that led to his departure from Cleveland, James exacted a sweet revenge as he spearheaded the Heat to a 4-1 series win in the second round of play-offs. James started to turn the heat right from the game-1 and ended it with one of best finishing bursts in his career. He scored a total of 140 points in five games.
LeBron James’ performance in the last game against the Celtics proved very vital for his team. James posted 33 points and propelled his team to the Eastern Conference finals. James is currently playing with an average of 26.1 points; 9.40 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game during this year’s play-offs.
Dwyane Wade
Although many people expected LeBron James to carry the torch for the Heat in the semi-final series, it was actually Wade who proved to be Miami’s henchman in the end. Wade has been an unstoppable juggernaut in the playoffs and is averaging 26.2 points per game. Wade has performed consistently in second round clash against the Boston Celtics.
In the series opener, he posted a game high 38 points, helping his team to draw the first blood. The Miami’s guard scored a total of 151 points and 34 rebounds in five games against the Boston Celtics.
Chris Bosh
The third Heat player who dominated the Celtics was Chris Bosh. His best performance came in game-2, where he posted 20 points and 11rebonds for the Heat. The significance of his performance in the series is highlighted by the very fact, that the only game which Miami lost had Bosh below double figures in scoring.
Paul Pierce
Boston Celtics’ Paul Pierce averaged 19.6 points in the Eastern Conference semi-finals against the Miami Heat.
Paul Pierce certainly showed some resistance, but his random performances could not match the brilliance of the big-3 of the Heat. Pierce posted 98 points and 28 rebounds in five games for the Boston Celtics. His best performance came in game-3 which was the only game that the Celtics won in the series. Pierce scored 27 points and five three pointers in that particular game and guided his team to a 97-81 win.
