LeBron James, Dwyane Wade send out their wishes to Derrick Rose – NBA News
Miami Heat All Star Forward and reigning MVP LeBron James has sent his wishes to former MVP Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls.
Rose suffered an ACL injury on his left knee in game 1 of the first round of the playoffs against the Philadelphia 76ers and was sidelined from the rest of the post season. In his absence, the Bulls lost to the Sixers in 6 games
and were eliminated in the first round, despite finishing the regular season with the best record in the league.
Many people said that the absence of Rose and the Bulls has made the playoffs somewhat less interesting, as people for the clash between Miami in Chicago in a possible Eastern Conference final. The two teams met in the Eastern
Conference Finals last year, where the Heat defeated the Bulls.
"No, I don't personally have D-Rose's number," James said, when asked if the pair had spoken. "I have never really had an extended conversation with D-Rose. I did say to the media that it sucks that (the injury) happened and I
wish him a fast recovery and hope he gets back to 100 percent."
James has been fortunate enough not to have had to face such an injury. He said that he is a big fan of Rose and would like to see him back on the court as soon as possible.
James teammate and Chicago native Dwyane Wade also sent wishes to Rose, adding that he might get to see him in summer when he travels to Chicago.
“No, I sent out my best wishes to D-Rose and his family, but I've been focused on the playoffs a little bit. I'm sure I'll be around Chicago a little bit in the summer and get an opportunity to hopefully talk to him” said Wade.
Wade has been through some tough injuries over the course of his career and had some words of advice for Rose, telling him to strictly follow his rehab plan and keep believing in himself and not doubt his future. He added that
there were times during his rehab when he thought he would not be able to do the same things on the basketball court, which was a difficult time for him.
He advised Rose to get through that period while still working hard and staying on his rehab schedule.
Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers suffered the same injury as Rose during his career. He was confident that Rose would be able to come back to the game of basketball and be the same player that he was before the injury.
"He'll be 100 percent. He'll be fine.” said Rivers while talking to ESPNChicago.com
