LeBron James: Best games in the first round of playoffs against the New York Knicks
After a heartbreak in the NBA Finals in the 2010-11 season, LeBron James led the Miami Heat into the playoffs once again in the last time around and standing in his way in the first round were the New York Knicks, led by Carmelo
Anthony.
Determined to get his hands on the Larry O’ Brien trophy for the first time in his career, King James produced big performances, leading Miami in points (139) and assists (28), to orchestrate a 4-1 mauling.
Let us look back at two of his best games for the series;
32 points and 4 steals – Game 1
In his first playoff outing, King James hammered a game high 32 points on a 10 of 14 shooting from the floor, which included a three pointer to lead the Heat to a convincing 100-67 win, handing the Knicks their worst defeat since
a a 126-85 mauling at the hands of Chicago Bulls on April 25, 1991.
Although LeBron had better all round games in the series, the fact that it took James only three quarters to achieve the scoring tally made it special and sent a clear warning to the NBA world, that the King means business this
time around. His message was clear after the game;
"I'm a different player this year, a different person this year compared to last year," James said. "I've waited to get back to the postseason, prepared myself all season, throughout the offseason to get back to this point."
32 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assist and 2 steals – Game 3
After sweeping the Knicks in the first two games at home, LeBron closed his first ever playoff trip to the Madison Square Garden with a powerful 32 point performance. The player shot 9 of 21 from the floor, grabbed 8 rebounds,
dished out five assists and also made two steal to lead Miami.
In a game where there was no Chris Bosh, James scored 17 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter as Miami pulled away. His only blemish of the night was perhaps the 8 turnovers, a season high.
