LeBron James: Ladder that the Miami Heat superstar needs to climb to improve his standing - Part 2
Most players earn respect only after they are able to perform at the highest level of the sport. No wonder players like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant have earned so much respect in their careers.
So LeBron needs to adopt a quieter approach and focus on proving his doubters wrong. Not only will that earn him mounds of confidence, but also grant him the license to demand respect.
However, it is true that no matter what he does, it is not even remotely likely that he will earn back the respect of the Cavs fans. Hence, the fourth point is that he needs to stop apologizing to the Cavs fans as it only fuels
their sentiments and attracts more hate and abuse for James. No, LeBron, you cannot fix things in Cleveland. Unless maybe you return to the Cavaliers, though I’m not sure they will even want him back.
So it is better if he lets this matter fade away itself and learns to live with his actions. The proverb; you cannot have your cake and eat it as well, encapsulates this situation perfectly. Stop trying to feel their pain LeBron,
because you cannot. The closer, one is to the source of betrayal, the harder it is to forgive.
All this eventually comes down to one last point, which is probably the raison d’être of this article. LeBron will have to apply the above formula and win the NBA championship. In order for the Heat to accomplish that, James will
have to play his part. Because he has already shown the world what happened when he didn’t.
LeBron’s excuse for parting with the Cavaliers was entirely based on his desire to win Championships. That is exactly what he should be focused on, even though the finals defeat at the hands of the Mavericks is a tough pill to
swallow.
The fact that Dwyane Wade is so highly adored by the Heat fans is primarily due to the fact that he won them a ring in 2006. And he did that by being the Most Valuable Player of the Final series. It is these sorts of things which
should inspire James and make him believe that he can still rectify things to a certain extent.
However, in order to gain motivation to follow in Wade’s footsteps, LeBron might require a little attitude adjustment. While being dominant and aggressive on the court, he needs to act like a more balanced and calm individual off
the court. In fact, I believe a little humility can only do him some good rather than harm.
This pretty much concludes LeBron’s recipe for success. However, LeBron has continuously stated that he does not give two cents regarding any soul and will live his life according to his own desires. Now whether people affect him
or not is something only LeBron knows. However, going by his attitude in the last one year or so, it might not be too shocking a revelation if he actually doesn’t care.
