LeBron James - The next Most Valuable Player?
LeBron James is no stranger to the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. The two-time MVP is likely to retain his current title, with the amazing form he is in and the brilliant season he has had so far.
In an interview on Tuesday, he said, “I’m in my zone, in a comfort zone where I’ve been the last two years, it took me a little while to get here, but I'm very comfortable with this team. I'm very comfortable with the sets, offensively and defensively. And
I'm back to playing LeBron James basketball.”
LeBron James Basketball... what may that be? Well... that’s the kind of game that gets you through every stage a winner!
The sheer brilliance that he displayed on Tuesday night would compliment his claim. He scored 41 points, 13 rebounds, eight assists and three steals against the Indiana Pacers to claim a 117-102 victory for his team, the Miami Heat. And that score was only
his second best of the season!
LeBron James has been MVP for two years in a row now. The stakes are high again and he is leading the race. He is the current top scorer in NBA. Since January 1, his average has been 30.6 points a game, and he’s virtually unstoppable. His competition may
be stiff as Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony are also potential contenders for the award. But LeBron doesn’t care and is playing his natural game.
Miami Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra is confident his star player will win this year’s MVP too. “He’s playing MVP basketball right now; I don't even think that's debatable.”
LeBron is this weeks’ Eastern Conference Player of the Week, earning this award for the 30th time in his career.
LeBron’s form is splendid. Playing against the Orlando Magic last week, LeBron scored a breathtaking 51 points – the season’s single game highest. His career average is a stunning 26.4 points a game with 7.30 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game.
After claiming the Rookie of the Year award in 2004, his individual achievements have only swelled. The seven-time NBA All-Star is surely going in the right direction.
LeBron James started at Cleveland and led them to the finals in 2007. When he left the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2010 and joined the Miami Heat, nobody excepted them to fall so roughly. Cleveland Cavaliers are currently at the bottom in the Eastern Conference
with only eight wins. His former team is trailing behind with a record 26 consecutive losses. They are looking for another LeBron to rescue them now.
LeBron James is happy at Heat so far and is exploring his game and future prospects. The Miami Heat currently holds the second position after Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference. Their next fixture is on Sunday against Boston in Boston. A decisive game
is expected as the Heat have the opportunity to push ahead of the hosts to the top of the table if they play their game right.
