The ‘h**l week’ is coming back as two of the best players, and rivals, in NBA prepare for the ultimate hardcore basketball training....
The NBA was locked out last year due to the labour dispute and uncertainty about any basketball whatsoever loomed large. But, that did not stop LeBron James and Kevin Durant from working out together for a week, a few glimpses
of which the whole world on the internet in the series hailed as ‘Striving for Greatness’.
Both players later admitted to having done the best workouts of their careers during that week and according to latest reports, the two giants of the league are planning to have a go again. Brian Windhorst of ESPN tweeted about
LeBron and Durant working out together again, during this off-season.
“LeBron & Durant are back working out with each other in preparation for training camp. Last year they called it “h**l week.””
Durant and James benefited greatly from the workouts last season and were the two main contenders for the regular season MVP. LeBron eventually took home this third MVP honour while Durant bagged the scoring title for the third
consecutive season.
But these individual honours however did not matter much to them as they desperately wanted to bring home a championship for their respective teams. Their journey continued after the regular season and by the mid of June, KD and
LeBron took on each other in the NBA Finals.
In what was billed as the clash of two of the greatest players in the present era, Miami Heat got past Oklahoma City Thunder in 5 games, leaving KD and his crew heartbroken.
Even though these two are very good friends and have won a gold medal together at the London Olympics since, but the high level of competitiveness was very prominent when they went up against each other in June. That competition
is bound to enhance come next season, when these two players will not only have to counter each other, but will also have to fend off the threat of what is being branded as the super team aka the Los Angeles Lakers.
