Miami Heat star and three times MVP leaves Leon Rose to join hands with close friend Rich Paul .....
NBA’s reigning and three times MVP, LeBron James has parted ways with his agent Leon Rose and the Creative Artists Agency in order to join hands with close friend Rich Paul and his newly formed agency.
This is not the first time James has parted ways with his agent. He left Aaron Goodwin to sign with Rose back in 2005. Rose has been responsible for the last two deals for James with the first being a contract extension with the
Cleveland Cavaliers. The agent was one of the main people involved in the formation of the Big Three with the Miami Heat as he worked out a 6 year deal for his client.
He had been in constant discussions with colleague David Thomas, who represents both Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in order to bring the three stars together in Miami. CAA’s other renowned clients include Carmelo Anthony and Chris
Paul which makes them a power house in the player representation business.
Paul has only been an agent for a short span but his growing reputation as one of the best in the business has drawn him the attention of quite a few noticeable athletes. He had been very close to James even before his NBA career
began and that friendship turned into business affiliation shortly after his rise to stardom since 2003
LeBron and Paul had been business partners in his marketing company LRMR formed back in 2005 after the player had parted ways with Goodwin. Paul has been organizing events and profit parties for James over the past few years and
focused his attention on player representation only four years ago.
Making recruitment and representation his top priorities, Paul has been affiliated with some of the lottery picks over the past few seasons. He was involved in the recruitment of the number 4th pick in 2010 draft, Tristan
Thompson, and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who was recently selected number two by the Charlotte Bobcats. His other known clients include the likes of Eric Bledsoe, Cory Joseph and Jonny Flynn.
