LeBron James having the best post season of his career – NBA Feature
LeBron James looks like a man on a mission with the resolve to finally overcome the title drought.
Last year, James probably had the most difficult defeat of his life when the Miami Heat lost to the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals. Being so close to the elusive NBA championship that he has been on a hunt
for since his entrance into the league, he must have been disappointed and disheartened. That was his first season with the Heat where he moved from Cleveland to complete the big three of the Heat franchise.
Promising multiple trophies, the Heat fell short in their first attempt. However, LeBron is not like any other player. He is as determined and strong as they come.
James entered this season even more focused on his goal than ever before and recorded five 30 point and 10 rebound games in the 66 game tourney. He was third in the scoring list, won the third regular season
MVP crown of his career and won a place in the All NBA Defensive team. It could not have been a better season for the man many argue is the best basketball player in the world.
But the best was yet to come and James has proved it so far. In the post season, he has already had five 30 point 10 rebound games and there is still an NBA Finals series to come.
He scored 45 points and 15 rebounds in game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Celtics, and then added 31 points and 12 rebounds in game 7 to close out the series. He has scored a total of 235 points
in the 7 game series against the Celtics, and has set a franchise record in doing so. Wade had 208 points in the 2006 NBA Finals which Miami won in 6 games. James has now surpassed him and set yet another franchise record.
"He's playing at an historic level during the playoffs, driving us with his will. We do not take his talent or his will or his competitiveness for granted. And we need every single bit of it. He is pushing himself
beyond his limits, and he's pushing the rest of the team, as well,” said Coach Erik Spoelstra on Sunday.
LeBron has 11 30 point games in a post season in which he has played 18 games so far. With the NBA Finals yet to be played, he is already tied with Dwyane Wade for the most number of 30 point games for the Miami
Heat in a single post season. Wade had 11 30 points games in the 2006 post season, the year in which Miami won the NBA title.
"He's the best basketball player in the world. He just has to show up and do what he's been working on and believe in himself, because we believe in him,” said teammate Chris Bosh.
Oklahoma City Thunder better watch out for number 23 as they open the series on Tuesday night. If James keeps on having his way, we will be looking at the NBA championship travelling back to South Florida.
