LeBron James’ inspired performances have Miami Heat within reach of a NBA crown – NBA Feature Part 1
LeBron James is only two games away from living his dream of capturing an NBA championship.
It is the championship that has been eluding him since he arrived on the NBA stage and the very thing that prevents him from being recognized as one of the greatest players to have ever played the game.
LeBron has done it all in the NBA at the age of 27. He is a three time MVP who has made it to consecutive All Star Games. He has numerous All NBA First Team and All NBA Defensive First Team nominations under his belt. In short,
he has broken records left, right and centre.
But despite all these achievements, he is yet to win an NBA championship and being in his third NBA Finals, his desperation is reflecting in his performances.
He has appeared in the NBA Finals twice before. Last year was his first with the Miami Heat, to where he moved from Cleveland and promised multiple championships. He led the Heat to the NBA Finals only to lose to the Dallas Mavericks
after having a 2-1 lead.
This year Miami is in the same predicament with a 2-1 lead over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals. And with two games to play at the American Airlines Arena before the series switches back to Oklahoma City, LeBron has
the opportunity to clinch the title on home court.
The title means so much to LeBron, as it is the only thing that will be able to silence his critics and prove to himself and everyone that he is among the best in the NBA.
The determination to achieve what he has been chasing since he got to the NBA has him playing like he has never played before. All throughout the playoffs, James has put in inspiring performances on a regular basis to get the job
done for his team.
Against the Indiana Pacers, Miami faced adversity going down 1-2. James responded with stellar performances to win three straight games and clinch the series 4-2. The Heat then faced the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference
Finals and with Boston up 3-2 and Miami facing elimination in game 6, LeBron put up 45 points and completely dominated the game to extend the series. Miami went on to win game 7 and secure a spot in the NBA Finals.
But it is his NBA Finals performance that has caught everyone off guard. For the better part of his career, LeBron has faced criticism for choking is pressure situations and not being able to perform in big games. His performance
in last year’s NBA Finals was disappointing to say the least, not the type to be expected from a player of his calibre.
But this year against the Oklahoma City Thunder, he has dominated more than any other player in the two teams.
