LeBron James is going to be the Most Valuable Player next season: NBA Feature (Part-1)
With the arrival of the two-time MVP champion LeBron James in Miami Heat, it was anticipated that the dynamic small forward won’t be able to contend for the Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award again as he had Dwyane Wade and Chris
Bosh on his side.
However, despite having two best players of the league alongside, LeBron proved his capability of leading the team statistically in just about every way and was second last year in the race for the MVP award.
Chicago Bulls shooting guard Derrick Rose was named as the MVP for the 2010-2011 season. However it was not because he was statistically better than James. Except the assists, James was better than Rose in every facet of the game,
however, because of Rose’s epic emergence gave him the edge.
Rose was sensational last season. Only in his third year, he took over the tag of alpha tag at the United Centre and took the Bulls to heights, which were last seen in the Michael Jordan era. The Bulls not only topped the Eastern
Conference that time around, they all edged past the San Antonio Spurs as the numero uno team in both conferences.
Add to it, the fact that James did not do his PR any good, after he infamously ditched the Cleveland Cavaliers last pre season and then went on to boast about winning multiple championships at the South Beach. Consequently, when
it was the turn for the fans to cast their vote, James got a bad deal.
However, when the playoffs arrived, James did prove his dominance over Rose. The two titans met in the Eastern Conference Finals and when that happened, James simply owned Rose. The Bulls guard was taken out of his comfort zone
by 6 ft 11 in forward, who guarded Rose in the clutch moments and the result was an exit for the Bulls.
Talking about who will be the next MVP in the coming season, LeBron James and Derrick Rose are under strong consideration already.
There is no doubt that Rose has improved his game incredibly in his short NBA career and is expected to go up a notch next season as well. However, the way James played in the last season, in a new team and after facing all the
abomination for leaving Cleveland Cavaliers, the Miami Heat superstar won’t be leaving any loopholes, not only to win the third MVP award, but also to furnish his resume with a championship title.
To say that after facing a loss in the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks in the last season, LeBron James will strike back stronger next season will be an understatement.
