LeBron James least interested in the Los Angeles Lakers struggle – NBA Update
“You know, when we (were) going through what we (were) going through, no one really cared about us.  So I don’t really worry about other teams.”
That was the response that Fran Blinebury of NBA.com got when he recently asked LeBron James about the Lakers’ struggles early in the season and the consequent coaching transition.
It was only two years back when LeBron James decided to leave Cleveland to pursue his dream of a championship and landed at the South Beach to join forces with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Booed and hated for ditching the franchise
which inducted him into NBA, LeBron saw what was perhaps the most hostile treatment NBA fans have given to any player in recent memory.
He endured, he sustained, and after the heartbreak against the Dallas Mavericks in the 2011 NBA Finals, the coronation finally came.
All along that ride, James and Miami fought alone, all alone. They overcame their slumps and their lumps together and then finally figured out a way towards the championship. They are now the team everybody envisioned them to be,
and by the looks of it, the championship ain’t going anywhere else any time soon.
The comments also speak volumes of the approach LeBron has developed in the last two years, one which clearly puts the onus on winning. In the very first season, he played to answer back his haters, something which he himself admitted.
That affected his performance big time. However, last season, the King played ball the way he likes to – for himself, the team, and for the love of the game. He changed his game where he had to, played at positions he never thought he would, adjusted to the
needs of the team day in and day out, challenged himself to improve, and the every piece of the puzzle eventually fell together.
He now knows what it takes to win, and understands that in order to be the greatest ever, he has to keep winning and negating the critics. So ask him about the Lakers’ struggles, and James will let you know exactly how much he
is interested – not much that is – even if they are being touted as the closest competition Heat will get this season.
