LeBron James looking to learn from Hakeem Olajuwon – NBA Report
LeBron James is as good a basketball player as they get.
However, the Miami Heat superstar seems intent on improving even further. The fact that many regard him as the best player walking the planet at present is apparently lost on the Miami Heat star. To improve his game, LeBron is
looking to get help from one of basketball’s all time greats, Hakeem Olajuwon.
Olajuwon is widely regarded to be the most skilled centre to ever play the game of basketball. The Houston Rockets Hall of Famer dominated the paint for almost two decades and won two NBA World Championships to boot. His “Dream
Shake” is considered one of the most devastating offensive moves to be witnessed in the NBA. The player was a behemoth on defence as well and finished his career as the leading shot blocker in history.
Olajuwon has previously worked with other super star players to help them improve their game. Kobe Bryant, the Los Angeles Lakers guard and a rival of LeBron’s for the best player tag, is among them. Recently Dwight Howard also
worked with the old maestro to improve his shot range and free throw deficiency.
Now LeBron is looking to improve after the disappointment of the NBA Finals last season when his side were beaten by the Dallas Mavericks and their German wonder, Dirk Nowitzki. LeBron’s lack of offense, especially in the clutch,
was criticized during the Finals and the players has decided to get better at his post-up game by seeking guidance from Olajuwon, perhaps the best low post player in history.
"Right now I've just been focusing on being a better player, working on my game every single day," James said. "Like I said, the Dallas Mavericks were a great team and they deserved to win that championship. And I'll just use that
as motivation coming into this season."
"I look at what he was able to do throughout his career," the Chosen One continued. "Unbelievable talent. Multiple champion. Just to see how he was able to dominate in the low post, for me as an individual, I just try to look at
some of the things I feel I need to get better at and hit home at it.”
James was of the view that striving to improve his game, he is working out twice a day now, is not only for himself but also to help his team. James is a vital part of the Miami Heat side. In the Big Three of himself, Dwyane Wade
and Chris Bosh, LeBron still stands out. The player is definitely the one with the most responsibility on his shoulders out of the three superstars and he said if he can improve his own game, he can better help the team achieve success. That success may come
in the very next NBA season.
